Please note not all print designs are available on every print base option. Please see the individual product page for clarification on what choices are available for the particular print design. Our parent company Friedmans do offer more choice, however minimum order rules do apply. Please contact us directly if a print base option not available - sales@funkifabrics.co.uk
DIGITAL PRINTING PROCESS The print process we use here at Friedman's is DIGITAL SUBLIMATION. Using specialist CAD/CAM software to design, repeat and colour match artwork, we send all digital design files to our specialist print room complete with the latest sophisticated, cutting edge inkjet printers.
DIGITAL SUBLIMATION means we digitally print our designs onto a specific WIDE FORMAT PAPER (media).This paper is then transferred via a ROTARY CALENDAR (transfer machine AT HEAT).
This process lends itself to WHITE, POLYESTER based fabrics only.
The benefits of which provide EXCELLENT FASTNESS and DURABILITY, plus EXCEPTIONAL DEPTH OF COLOUR!
As this is a dry process there is NO WATER WASTE.
The inks used in our printers are AQUEOUS (water based) and DO NOT CONTAIN ACID.

PF1001 FLEX (Flexcite)

Our most popular print base, an all-rounder in the performance and quality. As the Flex is 190gsm it is suitable for most disciplines from gymnastics to swimwear. It provides exclusive brightness on all printed colours with a matt finish. It ensures an excellent degree of coverage, perfect fit, and sculpts and shapes without constricting. Flex contains Xtralife lycra which allows freedom of movement for your comfort. Flex is not afraid of any harsh environments. It resists pilling, chlorine, creams and sun oils, and provides UV protection- UPF 50+.

PF1002 Gleam Shiny

This print base is perfect if looking for a glossy finish with its high shine effect. Especially nice for swimwear! It is a great base for high-impact prints as the colour is vivid. It resists pilling, chlorine, creams and sun oils, and provides UV protection- UPF 50+.

PF1003 Titan Heavyweight Matt

A true champion of the print base options. Titan is great if you would like more coverage and extra support due to its innovative construction. This base is lower in elastane content than our regular Flex base allowing a firmer stretch, whilst also offering extraordinary brilliance in white colour. It resists chlorine, pilling, and abrasion, provides protection from UV rays with a UPF 50+ rating, and sculpts and shapes forms. Also containing Xtralife, this is the perfect fit solution.

PF1004 Life Recycled

Our life Recycled print base is for you if you like sustainable fabrics. Made with regenerated polyester thread from waste material destined for landfill. This base has a subtle sheen which makes the colours pop. Life is ideal for chlorine-resistant swimwear, suncream / oil-resistant provides protection from UV rays with a UPF 50+ rating. More features include pilling resistant, and ultra flat. A great base for long-lasting sportswear.

PF1005 Net

The polyester printable net is light weight that offers great stretch and a floaty drape. A subtle base which follows the body’s movement, ensuring a perfect fit. Popular in the fashion industry due to its innovative structure and its sheer aesthetic. Even though we only print on one sided this is a great base as the colour does come through so is not white on the reverse. An alternative to the PF1027 Alicante Net Print Base if wanting a softer net with a looser weave.

PF1007 Velvet

Velvet is one of most luxurious print bases. This smooth and stretchy velvet offers a glossy and brilliant appearance, with its extremely comfortable texture. It is a sophisticated fabric, great for fashion and ideal for leisure / athleisure garments with a touch of glamour. Other qualities of this base include excellent coverage, pilling resistance and ultra soft to touch.

PF1008 Faux Silk

Faux Silk is one of our few fabrics which has zero stretch. This base is lightweight which offers a floaty drape. Perfect for cover ups on the beach!

PF1009 Thermo

Composition – 85% Polyester 15% Elastane
Thermo is a brushed techno-fabric, which is pleasant on the skin. The brushing creates a protective cushion that ensures good thermal insulation. It has excellent breathability which promotes the natural evaporation of sweat, preventing the proliferation of bacteria which causes bad odours. Being naturally moisture wicking it is ideal for keeping your body temperature steady. Perfect for sportswear and athleisure wear.

Peach is soft, breathable, quick drying with a touch so extremely soft and delicate we liken it to the skin of a peach. Comfortably flows with athletic movement shaping the body without constraint. With 50+ UPF protection.

Microfibre, peached with a brushed texture on one side. This is a quick dry fabric which is water repellent and a rigid finish. A strong and smooth print base. Examples of uses -

Renew Techno is full-bodied, sustainable and has a high-density. This fabric supports the muscles and follows the wearer’s movements during physical activity. It offers the same features of virgin polyester. A compact, non-see-through, strong material with a pleasant hand feel, it ensures the right muscular support during exercise and is great for sublimation printing. Perfect for active and fitness wear. 100% Recycled polyester from plastic bottles and made of a yarn derived from post-industrial and post-consumer waste materials.
